Plants being immobile are often exposed to harsh environmental conditions. Environmental factors including biotic and abiotic factors can influence the growth and productivity of plants. Due to the global warming and the associated climate change, the frequency and intensity of abiotic stresses has increased which is predicted to increase further. Therefore, development of a sustainable tool for the improvement of stress resilience in crop plants is the urgent need of the hour. Priming is one such robust mechanism that enhances stress response in plants via establishment of stress memory. We work on unravelling the molecular cascades mediated by thermopriming. Further, we are working on integrating priming as a crop management practice for improved productivity using precision agricultural technologies.
